CIBC Innovation Banking Sizzle Reel
test
Dax Dasilva: When you, as a leader, believe in something
and you show passion for something, that's contagious.
(upbeat music begins)
David Barrett: When you're starting off,
it's just super important to say yes to every opportunity.
Ed Quilty: It's not an easy journey.
Arun Menawat: Everything we're working on is working,
and we're either not moving fast enough
or being aggressive enough in our field.
Ed Quilty: I want to do work on much larger problems.
Mallorie Brodie: I think where the big mistakes happen
is where people are putting all their eggs in one basket.
Dax Dasilva: Conservation,
sustainability.
These things have to be built
into the way that we work.
Jordan Boesch: The best decisions are often the hardest.
DD: When you have more time to really know what you stand
for, to really build a set of values and build a way
of operating that is uniquely your own.
MH: So, your minimal viable product was a pad of paper?
Mallorie Brodie: Yep.
JB: What we do have going for us there is, you know,
smart people that are, that are extremely loyal
and that want to be part of something bigger.
DB: And we settled upon CIBC Innovation Banking
because they were just
so familiar with what our needs were
and they were so flexible and trying to come up with
a structure that accommodated our unique business model.
DB: I was like, "this is going to change everything."
(singing)
JB: CIBC has been a great advocate
for tech companies and growing businesses like ourselves.
AM: We shift this whole concept
to an entirely new level.
EQ: It's like the difference between
looking at a photo versus watching the whole movie.
DD: We have tools now to build a bigger,
more international company.
DB: We just did our own Super Bowl ad
just for the fun of it.
AM: The fact that CIBC did a thorough diligence,
understood our technology.
JB: That was a major growth driver for us
that we felt was a big contributor to our success.
Lauren Lake: They've opened lots of doors.
EQ: CIBC had this innovative DNA.
JB: Being in partner with them
from a banking perspective,
has just meant a lot of great hands on work.
We're more of a partner, less of a client.
DB: In the end, it turns out
that it was a much better opportunity
than anything else I was doing prior.
DD: Just seeing what this team has been able to accomplish,
as a Canadian company,
establishing something that it's truly global.
JB: And we can really stay laser focused
to deliver a great product
and build a massive company.
DB: At every point in the process,
they were so supportive and so creative,
we just realized we've got a partner for life.
